Permission implementation
SAP S/4HANA® migration audit
The data that is regulated by the structural authorizations must be hierarchically structured in one of the personnel development components. This could be Organizational Management or Personnel Development, for example. Access can thus be regulated relative to the root object within the hierarchical structure.

SAP delivers authorization objects for Records and Case Management, which you can use to control access to records, cases, documents, and incoming mail items for individual organizational units in your organizational plan in conjunction with corresponding Customizing settings. SAP delivers predefined roles that contain clearly defined authorizations for the respective task areas of the employees. Among other things, these roles also contain the authorization objects for Records Management and Case Management. You can use the roles as a template for your own roles and adapt them to your requirements.
Full verification of user group permissions when creating the user
If the system trace has recorded permission data for this authorization object, it will appear in the right pane of the window. In the left pane, you can see the existing suggestion values. If you notice that you do not have any suggestion values that you think are necessary and have been recorded by the trace, you can set the suggestion values to Yes by selecting the appropriate row, column or field in the right pane and clicking the Apply button. You are free to make any manual adjustments to the field values. Afterwards, confirm maintenance and your changes are saved for this authorization object. Do the same for all other authorization objects.

Both solutions offer you the added value of centralised reporting of existing users, newly created users, and role assignments. You can also extend the integrated workflows of both solutions to HANA permission applications. This enables you to use the risk analysis of the SAP Access Control solution also in relation to critical HANA permissions.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.

Now, to allow only certain external services, you can do the following: First, identify the external service using the permission trace.

The website www.sap-corner.de offers a lot of useful information about SAP authorizations.

Furthermore, it could be differentiated between customising, master data and movement data maintenance.
